Para quien no sepa, en los Manic Street Preachers la forma de trabajo es la siguiente. Nicky Wire (y Richie Edwards antes de que desapareciera) escribían letras para canciones y a veces una melodía básica. James Dean Bradfield se encarga de musicalizarlas con ayuda de Sean Moore. De todas las canciones del ya muy extenso catálogo de los Manics, solo Ocean Spray del disco Know Your Enemy, fue escrita completamente por James. Así que en lo que los Manics se tomaban un descanso, decidió aventurarse a escribir canciones y así llego su disco solista, The Great Western, con un gran primer sencillo. That’s No Way To Tell A Lie.

Una versión acústica interpretada por James de esta rareza de los Manics. Una excelente canción y una versión increíble. Que tiene su razon de estar aquí, y es que es la canción perfecta para el blog en este momento, Forever Delayed, pero ahora si este fin de año se acerca la lista de Singles y Albums del año asi que prometo ya actualizare, perdonen la demora. Para los fans (y tambien los no fans) de los Manic Street Preachers, aquí esta un poco tarde, pero esta, el disco solista de James Dean Bradfield, que para quien no sepa es el cantante de los Manics y guitarrista principal, aunque las letras de los Manics (con excepcion de Ocean Spray) siempre han sido compuestas por Nicky Wire o Richie Edwards (cuando estaba con nosotros.. o tal vez este…) Así, aquí James puede expresarse componiendo sus propias canciones aunque Nicky Wire compuso la tercera (Bad Boys And Painkillers). Un gran gran gran disco (si, 3 veces grande).

Y como un extra (y recien adquiridas estas), una probada del próximo disco como solista de Nicky Wire, el bajista y compositor de los Manics, llamado I Killed The Zeitgeist. Son buenas canciones pero sin duda que Nicky no es un gran cantante, pero aún asi estan interesantes. Aunque la mejor es la instrumental =P
