#1 The Strokes – You Only Live Once

Ninguna canción engloba mejor eso que You Only Live Once. #1

The StrokesYou Only Live Once

Some people think they’re always right
Others are quiet and uptight
Others they seem so very nice nice nice nice
Inside they might feel sad and wrong

Twenty-nine different attributes
Only seven that you like
Twenty ways to see the world
Twenty ways to start a fight

Oh don’t don’t don’t get out
So I can see the sunshine
I’ll be waiting for you, baby
Cause I’m through
Sit me down
Shut me up
I’ll calm down
And I’ll get along with you

Men don’t notice what they got
Women think of that a lot
One thousand ways to please your man
And neither one requires a plan, I know

And countless odd religions too
It doesn’t matter which you choose
One stubborn way to turn your back
I guess I’ve tried and I refuse

Oh don’t don’t don’t get out
So I can see the sunshine
I’ll be waiting for you, baby
Cause I’m through
Sit me down
Shut me up
I’ll calm down
And I’ll get along with you
Alright

Shut me up
Shut me up
And I’ll get along with you

#2 Arctic Monkeys – When The Sun Goes Down

When The Sun Goes Down llegó y cambió todo.

Arctic MonkeysWhen The Sun Goes Down

So who’s that girl there?
I wonder what went wrong
So that she had to roam the streets
She don’t do major credit cards
I doubt she does receipts
It’s all not quite legitimate

And what a scummy man
Just give him half a chance
I bet he’ll rob you if he can
Can see it in his eyes, yeah
That he’s got a driving ban
Amongst some other offences

And I’ve seen him with girls of the night
And he told Roxanne to put on her red light
They’re all infected but he’ll be alright
Cause he’s a scumbag, don’t you know
I said he’s a scumbag, don’t you know!

Although you’re trying not to listen
I bet your eyes are staring at the ground
She makes a subtle proposition
Sorry love I’ll have to turn you down

And oh he must be up to something
Want half a chance to show he’s more than likely
I’ve got a feeling in my stomach
I start to wonder what his story might be
What his story might be

They said it changes when the sun goes down
And they said it changes when the sun goes down
And they said it changes when the sun goes down
Around here
Around

And look here comes a Ford Mondeo
Isn’t he Mister Inconspicuous
And he don’t have to say ‘owt
She understands she’s here to get picked up

And she’s delighted when she sees him
Pulling in and giving her the eye
Because she must be fucking freezing
Scantily clad beneath the clear night sky
She don’t stop in the winter, no and…

They said it changes when the sun goes down
And they said it changes when the sun goes down
And they said it changes when the sun goes down
Around here

They said it changes when the sun goes down
Over the river going out of won
And they said it changes when the sun goes down
Around here
Around here

What a scummy man
Just give him half a chance
I bet he’ll rob you if he can
Can see it in his eyes that he’s got a nasty plan
I hope you’re not involved at all

#3 Muse – Starlight

Ahí tenemos Wonderwall, Creep, Song 2, Why Does It Always Rain On Me?, etc. Mientras que muchos dirán Time is Running Out, algunos dirán Plug In Baby, otros Bliss y a esa lista podría añadirse Starlight.

MuseStarlight

Far away
This ship is taking me far away
Far away from the memories
Of the people who care if I live or die

Starlight
I will be chasing the starlight
Until the end of my life
I don’t know if it’s worth it anymore

Hold you in my arms
I just wanted to hold
You in my arms

My life
You electrify my life
Let’s conspire to ignite
All the souls that would die just to feel alive

But I’ll never let you go
If you promised not to fade away
Never fade away

Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations
Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations

Hold you in my arms
I just wanted to hold
You in my arms

Far away
This ship is taking me far away
Far away from the memories
Of the people who care if I live or die

And I’ll never let you go
If you promise not to fade away
Never fade away

Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations
Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations

Hold you in my arms
I just wanted to hold
You in my arms
I just wanted to hold

#4 Boy Kill Boy – Suzie

Enjoy.

Boy Kill Boy – Suzie

This is not a movie
Things just ain’t the same as your favourite video
Try standing back and move me
next to you’s a very nice place to go

Talk talk to Suzie!
«I went through a million choices.»
Talk talk to Suzie
«I listened to a million voices»
And they said…
«Don’t let me down» they said
«Don’t let me down again»
No no…

Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment
«I’m yours, tonight!»
Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment
«I’m yours, tonight!»
Oh no no no

Read not what the stars say

There’s an evil lurking round every door
It’s not enough to make you leave me
And I never wanted you to go

Talk talk to Suzie!
«,I went through a million choices»
Talk talk to Suzie!
«I listened to a million voices»

And they said…
«Don’t let me down» they said
«Don’t let me down» they said
«Don’t let me down again»
No no…

Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment
«I’m yours, tonight!»
Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment
«I’m yours, tonight!»

Oh, time has leering on
So take another breath
And taste this one more time again

Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment
«I’m yours, tonight!»,
Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment
«I’m yours, tonight!»,
Countdown, countdown, countdown to the disappointment
«I’m yours, tonight!»

#5 The Automatic – Monster

The Automatic – Monster

Brain fried tonight through misuse
Through misuse, through misuse
You can’t avoid static abuse
Abuse, abuse

Without these pills you’re let loose
You’re let loose, you’re let loose
Take off, get out, no excuse
No excuse, no excuse

What’s that coming over the hill
Is it a monster? Is it a monster?
What’s that coming over the hill
Is it a monster? Is it a monster?
What’s that coming over the hill
Is it a monster? Is it a monster?
What’s that coming over the hill?

Confused, mind bruised, it seeps out
It seeps out, it seeps out
Face down, home town looks so grey
Looks so grey, looks so grey

Convexed you bend, twist and shout
Twist and shout, twist and shout
Stand up brush off get moving
Get moving, get moving

What’s that coming over the hill
Is it a monster? Is it a monster?

Face down, home town, face down, home town
Face down, home town, it looks so grey

What’s that coming over the hill
Is it a monster? Is it a monster?

#6 The Rifles – Peace & Quiet

The Rifles – Peace & Quiet

I don’t see how another day’s gonna make us change our minds
So why don’t we go separate ways and save us a bit of time?
We can’t go on trying living behind this worn out and thin disguise
I don’t want to try talking it out I don’t need another fight
It just won’t work when

All I want is a little peace and quiet

I just don’t wanna live this way cause lately we’re up al night
I can’t speak free when your in my face and I don’t like to be unkind
But constantly you try and turn it around when clearly it’s black and white
Something’s gone and now I’m feeling down cause I’ve been here a million times
It just won’t work when

All I want is a little peace and quiet

It’s been so long since I had a lover
Now I’m here alone without another
It’s been so long since I had a lover
Now I’m here alone without another

Now I’m alone

#7 The Kooks – Naive

Eddie’s Gun, Sofa Song y You Don’t Love Me. Y después se dieron cuenta que la regaron con los singles y sacaron She Moves In Her Own Way y Ooh La.

The Kooks – NaiveI’m not saying it was your fault
Although you could have done more

Oh you’re so naive yet so

How could this be done
Your such a smiling sweetheart
Oh and your sweet and pretty face
In such an ugly way
Something so beautiful
That everytime I look inside

I know that she knows that I’m not fond of asking
True or false it may be
She’s still out to get me

I know that she knows that I’m not fond of asking
True or false it may be
She’s still out to get me

I may say it was your fault
Cause I know you could have done more

Oh you’re so naive yet so

How could this be done
By such a smiling sweetheart
Oh and your sweet and pretty face
In such an ugly way something so beautiful
Everytime I look inside

I know that she knows that I’m not fond of asking
True or false it may be
She’s still out to get me

I know that she knows that I’m not fond of asking
True or false it may be
She’s still out to get me

How could this be done
By such a smiling sweetheart

Oh you’re so naive yet so

Such an ugly thing
Someone so beautiful
And everytime you’re on his side

I know she knows that I’m not fond of asking
True or false it maybe be she’s still out to get me

And I know she knows that I’m not fond of asking
True or false it maybe be she’s still out to get me

Just don’t let me down
Just don’t let me down
Hold on to your kite
Just don’t let me down
Just don’t let me down
Hold on to your kite
Just don’t let me down
Just don’t let me down
Hold on to this kite
Just don’t let me down

Just don’t let me down

#8 Dirty Pretty Things – Deadwood

We’re getting closer to #1.

Dirty Pretty ThingsDeadwood

You got the world boy

This all you make it?
You had the choice lad
You wouldnt take it
The oldest charm

Only the best for you

And the years of my life,
Some they were so good,
But now and again I feel
I was a coward
Are the holes in my soul
In tatters for all these tears
Well you dont see it that way

A way, a way

We’lll have it today

The dancing ones they really mean it

But something boy,
somethings gonna change

A way, a way

Youve got it they say
How do they know
When theyve never seen it?

And what will you do
When they forget your name?

Well you’ll up and get another one

Don’t give me that face
I know when I should live in disgrace
Not dig up the deadwood
I knew this place was never the place for me

And of the years that rolled by
Yeah some were so good
But now I know that
You were the coward
The holes in your soul
In tatters for all these years

But you cant see it that way

A way, a way

Well have it today
The dancing ones they really mean it
And mark my words
Something’s gonna change

A way, a way
Youve got it they say
But how do they know
When theyve never seen it?
And what will you do
When they forget your name?

Well you’ll up and get another one

A way, a way
We’ll have it today
The dancing ones they really mean it
But something boy
somethings gonna change

A way, a way
Youve got it today
But how do they know
When theyve never seen it?
And what will you do
When they forget your name?

Well you’ll up and get another one

#9 The Pipettes – Pull Shapes

The Pipettes – Pull Shapes

Dance with me, pretty boy tonight
Dance with me, and we’ll be alright
There’s a whole floor before us, just for you and me,
So follow my lead, and we’ll 1-2-3

Pull Shapes,
I like to Disco
I like to Rock n’ Roll
Well I like to Hip-Hop
We can do it all, just don’t let the music stop

Pull Shapes,
I lead with my left hand
I stomp with my right foot
Well I just wanna freak out
I just wanna move, I don’t care what the song’s about

Dance with me, pretty boy tonight
Dance with me, and we’ll be alright
There’s a whole floor before us, just for you and me,
So follow my lead, and we’ll 1-2-3

Pull Shapes,
Is there a drumbeat?
Pull Shapes
And is the bass beat?
Pull Shapes
Then the rhythm is complete

Well get up on the floor, its time for you to move your feet

Dance with me, pretty boy tonight
Dance with me, and we’ll be alright
There’s a whole floor before us, just for you and me,
So follow my lead, and we’ll 1-2-3

What do you do when the music stops?
What do you do when the music stops?
What do you do when the music stops?
What do you do when the music stops?

Pull Shapes
Clap your hands if you want some more,
Pull Shapes
Clap your hands if you want some more,
Pull Shapes
Clap your hands if you want some more,
Pull Shapes
Clap your hands if you want some more,

Clap your hands if you want some more,
Clap your hands if you want some more,

Dance with me, pretty boy tonight
Dance with me, and we’ll be alright
There’s a whole floor before us, just for you and me,
So follow my lead, and we’ll 1-2-3
Pull Shapes

Dance with me, pretty boy tonight
Pull Shapes
Dance with me, and we’ll be alright
Pull Shapes
There’s a whole floor before us, just for you and me,
Pull Shapes
So follow my lead, and we’ll 1-2-3
Pull Shapes

#10 Embrace – Nature’s Law

Embrace – Nature’s Law

I tried to fight the feeling, a feeling took me down
I struggled and I lost the day you knocked me out

Now everything’s got meaning, and meanings bring me down
I’m watching as a screening of my life plays out.

Everyday I fight these feelings
For your sake I will hide the real thing
You can run all your life, all mine I will chase

You should never fight your feelings
When your very bones believe them
You should never fight your feelings
You have to follow nature’s law

I’ll live with never knowing, if knowing’s gonna change
Or stop a feeling growing I will stay away

Like a broken record stuck before a song
A million beginnings none of them the one

Everyday I fight these feelings
For your sake I will hide the real thing
You can run all your life, all mine I will chase

You should never fight your feelings
When your very bones believe them
You should never fight your feelings
You have to follow nature’s law

I wrote her letters and tried to send them
In a bottle I place my hope
An SOS full of good intentions sinking
Will you give it to me, don’t make me wait
You built me up, knocked me down
But I will stand my ground
And guard this light that I’ve found

You should never fight your feelings
When your very bones believe them
If you let them show, you’ll keep them
I know your hurt but soon you’ll rise again, again, again?.

You should never fight your feelings
When your very bones believe them
You should never fight your feelings
You have to follow nature’s law

#11 Dirty Pretty Things – Bang Bang, You’re Dead

Dirty Pretty ThingsBang Bang You’re Dead

I knew all along
That I was right at the start
bout the seeds of the weeds
That grew in your heart
Self satisfaction for the factions
Who formed to tear us apart
Well I gave you the Midas touch
Oh you turned round and scratched out my heart

Oh what did you expect?
Oh tell me what did you expect?
To lay it on my head
So is it all upon my head?

Bang bang you’re dead
Oh Im so easily lead
Bang bang you’re dead
Put all the rumours to bed
Bang bang you’re dead

I knew all along
But I was loathe to believe
There was nothing but spite
Fury and lies
Of the words that you weave
An illusion to a conclusion
And oh its oh so tawdry
When you put it to bed
Kick it in the head
Oh wont they just let it be

Bang bang you’re dead
Always so easily lead
Bang bang you’re dead
Put all the rumours to bed
Bang bang you’re dead

Oh what did you expect?
Oh tell me what did you expect?
To lay it on my head
So is it all upon my head?

Bang bang you’re dead
Always so easily lead
Bang bang you’re dead
Put all the rumours to bed
Bang bang you’re dead
Bang bang bang bang you’re dead

#12 Delays – Valentine

Delays – Valentine

I can see a hurricane tonight,
It keeps from my valentine,
This voodoo’s doing me harm,
Ooh, ooh, raise the alarm,

Maybe, this is the moment to pray dear,
But I’d rather lay by your side,
Cos millions are fighting their way here

New Orleans’ll tremble tonight,
With bleeding hearts and swaying lights,
A very modern machine,
Ooh, ooh, is coming for me,

Maybe, this is the moment to say dear,
I thought I’d have you by now,
But sentiment got in the way dear,

Oh, oh, oh, tell me,
When did the water surround me?
But tell me, is that love in your eyes?

I can see a hurricane tonight,
It keeps me from my valentine,
A very modern machine,
Is coming for me?

Tell me,
When did the water surround me?
But tell me, is that love in your eyes?

Oh, oh, oh, tell me,
When did the water surround me?
And tell me, is that, is that love?

Just tell me the truth it makes me feel better,
Love in your eyes, it makes me feel better

#13 The Rifles – Repeated Offender

The Rifles – Repeated Offender

Not one of my kind of people though that’s part of our lives
Not one of the type of things that I like to do with my time
And I don’t see and don’t believe he’ll ever get it right, really
Not one of my kind of people

Don’t want group aggrovation he’s always there on the case
Love is not your vocation but like to get in the face
Of everybody here who looks you up a funny way, really
Not one of my kind of people

Now don’t you pretend that when you wake in the morning
Your lying to yourself it will happen again
Repeated offender you should come with a warning
It’s embarrassing for all of your friends.

#14 Muse – Supermassive Black Hole

Muse – Supermassive Black Hole

Oh baby don’t you know I suffer?
Oh baby can you hear me moan?
You caught me under false pretences
How long before you let me go?

Oooh…You set my soul alight
Oooh…You set my soul alight

(You set my soul alight)
Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive

(You set my soul alight)
Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive

I thought I was a fool for no-one
Oh baby I’m a fool for you
You’re the queen of the superficial
And how long before you tell the truth

Oooh…You set my soul alight
Oooh…You set my soul alight

(You set my soul alight)
Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive

(You set my soul alight)
Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive

Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole

Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive

Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive

(You set my soul alight)
Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive

(You set my soul)
Glaciers melting in the dead of night
And the superstars sucked into the supermassive

Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole
Supermassive black hole

#15 Razorlight – In The Morning

Razorlight – In The Morning

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong
Maybe I’ve been here too long
The songs on the radio sound the same
Everybody just looks the same
But then last night was so much fun
And now your sheets are dirty
The streets are dirty too but
You never look back over what you’ve done
Remember when you were young
You’d lose yourself
In the morning, you know you won’t remember a thing
In the morning, you know it’s gonna be alright

Wake him up, warm him up
Put him on the stage, well
The boy can’t help it, it’s not his fault
Just a dangerous dangerous thing
But then every night’s still so much fun
And you’re still out there darling
Clinging on to the wrong ideas but
I never regret anything I’ve done

Remember when you were young
You’d lose yourself
