#70 The Automatic – Interstate
«Tear the signs down»
Grata sorpresa ha sido el nuevo single de los galeses The Automatic. Interstate es mucho mejor que cualquier canción de su segundo disco y que varias del primero, lo que augura que su tercer disco, Tear The Signs Down, puede tener cosas interesantes. Una de esas bandas que muchos ya daban por muertos, a ver si nos sorprenden en el 2010. Por lo pronto, llegan al top 70 de este conteo.

This Is A Fix
This Is A Fix es el segundo disco de The Automatic, banda Galesa que es mas conocida por su hit Monster que por otra cosa. Solían tener un tecladista que gritaba y gritaba y a veces molestaba. Lo sacaron, y en lugar de reemplazarlo con otro tecladista, reclutaron al líder de una banda ya desaparecida conocida como Yourcodenameis:milo. Asi que ahora casi no hay teclados, hay mas guitarras, mas vocalistas, y en general, un disco bastante decente una vez que le agarras el gusto. Aquí, lo mejor.

Unos covers…
- Hablando de los Automatic y de la salida de Penni, un cover de Gold Digger original de Kanye West. El cover lo hicieron para la Radio1 y luego lo anduvieron tocando en vivo y finalmente lo pusieron de b-side de Raoul. Aquí la canción y aunque no de muy buena calidad, un video donde se observa el protagonismo de Penni:

- De Boy Kill Boy, Maneater original de Nelly Furtado. También fue grabada para el show Live Lounge de la Radio1 y fue incluída como b-side en el single de Shoot Me Down. A falta de video, aquí la canción.
- Y Lily Allen, o más bien Mark Ronson featuring Lily Allen con Oh My God, original de los super Kaiser Chiefs. EL cover fue grabado el año pasado pero fue relanzado como single de Ronson en julio de este año. Aquí la rola y aunque hay video oficial del single (donde los kaiser hacen su aparición) me gusta más esta live performance en el Friday Night Project del Channel 4.

Glastonbury 2007 en tu iPod – Parte 4
ACTUALIZACIÓN: Ya estan todos para bajar también individualmente. Se los recomiendo todo, se que unos grupos no son tan conocidos pero denles una oportunidad. 🙂
Pues con la novedad de que en lugar de 4 partes, se ampliará a 5 partes esta serie de videos de Glastonbury 2007 para su iPod. No había subido porque he tenido problemas para poner los archivos individuales y de hecho los sigo teniendo. Por alguna razón no he podido subir ni uno solo de los que videos que siguen, pero para no hacerlos epserar, pues les tengo aquí un archivo con los siguientes 5 videos. Esta como de unos 80 mb pero se los recomiendo. Me he dado cuenta que muchos prefieron bajarlos individuales y yo los quiero poner así pero al menos por hoy creo que hoy no se podrá. #5 The Automatic – Monster
Si hubiera un libro de texto de como escribir un hit single, seguro habría un capítulo dedicado a esta canción. Después de llamar un poco la atención con Recover, The Automatic se dispusieron a scar su carta mas grande justo en tiempo para que en los festivales de verano del 2006 todo mundo supiera esta canción. Guitarras fáciles pero memorables, versos sin sentido pero con ritmo, un middle 8 que crece y crece, y un coro que se te queda en la mente quieras o no y a la tercera vez de escucharla ya lo cantas sin darte cuenta. Imposible resistirse a la canción. Tal vez su única falla sea la simpleza y tontería de las letras, pero bueno, ese era el chiste (si no, vean el video). Además, cuando una canción es así de buena, que importa.

Segunda canción de la banda de Cowbridge, Gales, aunque surgidos musicalmente de Cardiff. En sí fue su primer single que entro a los charts ingleses, aunque ya se va a relanzar este año, pero está en esta lista por haber sido lanzada originalmente el año pasado. Y todavía falta otra de ellos en esta lista. Let’s go see Raoul!

Gales se ha caracterizado por dar buenas bandas a la escena del rock británico. Manics, Stereophonics, Super Furries, Catatonia, Feeder, pura calidad. Ya había tiempo sin que hubiera una banda galesa que impactara a los ingleses hasta que llego The Automatic, de Cowbridge, Gales. Este fue su primer single (muy limitado) y este año, después de su éxito, fue relanzado. Recover. Yeah
