Antes de empezar a hablar del disco debut de los Courteeners quiero expresar mi desagrado con la industria musical (y el público) en el Reino Unido. Siempre ha sido mejor que el gringo (en mi opinión!) y todavía le tengo fe (no mucha, pero es mejor ver los charts de UK que de USA). Pero que es eso que el nuevo de los Mystery Jets (que es una joya) entra en el #50 y el de Boy Kill Boy (que no es tan bueno pero tampoco!) en el #98. A complete shame. No que estas palabras vayan a hacer mucho, solo quería comentarlo. Lo que sí pueden hacer es de vez en cuando comprar un disco, o ya de perdida una canción en 7 Digital, sitio que últimamente he encontrado encantador (excepto cuando los artistas ponen sus canciones con DRM, asi no compro!).

Ahora sí. Manchester no podía dejarnos mucho tiempo sin grandes bandas. Como Londres y Liverpool, siempre tienen que estar produciendo. Sheffield y Brighton estan teniendo sus momentos pero, por favor, no durarán para toda la vida. Y Manchester nos lo recuerda ahora con The Courteeners. En repetidas ocasiones mencionados por aquí, este cuarteto de Manchester saco esta semana su debut St. Jude. No es disco del año, y probablemente no sea debut del año, pero es muy bueno. Liam Fray, cantante, guitarrista principal y compositor dirá muchas tonterías, pero que buenas canciones escribe y, sobre todo, que buenas letras. Digo, nada del otro mundo pero decent enough. Les dejo aquí, si bien no todo el disco, si varias de las mejores para que se animen a comprarlo. O bajenlo por ahí y luego lo compran. Lo recomiendo.
