Turner & Kane era el primer nombre que se barajaba cuando se anunció que Alex Turner y Miles Kane trabajarían juntos en un proyecto, hace ya más de un año. Finalmente se dijo que serían The Last Shadow Puppets y su disco y primer single se llamarían The Age of the Understatement. Por ahí, alguien en la presna los acuso de pretenciosos.
