Aunque en Irlanda ya era un poco conocido, sobre todo por su paso en la banda The Immediate, Conor O’Brien y su banda, Villagers, eran practicamente desconocidos en el Reino Unido. Llego Mayo del 2010, con el disco debut a punto de salir, y de alguna manera Conor logro un lugar en el programa de Jools Holland. Solo, sin banda, casi en un lugar improvisado en medio de los demás grupos, Conor fue presentado sin mucha fanfarria por Jools, para interpretar Becoming A Jackal. Menos de 5 minutos después, su historia ya había cambiado.
