Empezamos esta sección, serie, como quieran llamarle, con una canción de uno de los grupos ingleses menos valorados de los últimos años, en mi opinión. British Sea Power, nominados dos veces al Mercury Award, nunca han tenido mucho éxito comercial, no el que uno esperaría al menos. Pero eso no quita que sean reconocidos en otros ámbitos, como por ejemplo en el Museo Marítimo Nacional del Reino Unido. Hace unos días puse en twitter (síganos: @awayfromhere) que parte de la letra de una canción del grupo, figuraba en una nueva ala de este museo, ubicado en Greenwich. Pasajes de Shakespeare, por ejemplo, se encuentran junto a la letra de Carrion de British Sea Power, todas las frases haciendo alusión al mar y a su grandeza.

Como dato curioso, Carrion originalmente se llamaba British Sea Power, ya que la canción es una alusión y exaltación a momentos importantes de la marina británica y al mar en general. La banda por aquel entonces se llamaba British Air Powers, pero les gusto mucho más el Sea y se identificaban mas y tomaron ese nombre, y a la canción le cambiaron el nombre a Carrion. Fue el primer single de la banda en entrar al top 40, por allá del 2003, y fue incluida en su disco debut The Decline of British Sea Power.
