The Maccabees parecían estar en la cima del mundo. Habían recorrido largo camino desde aquella banda surgida en el apogeo del indie-rock hace diez años, y que con tenacidad y creatividad aprendieron a distinguirse de sus contemporáneos, a llamar la atención con cada disco, evolucionar artísticamente y al mismo tiempo subir de nivel comercialmente. Este verano habían sido headliners del festival Latitude, el más grande de los festivales de tamaño mediano en el Reino Unido. Lo siguiente, era la conquista de las grandes ligas. Y es ahí, en ese momento, que decidieron dejarnos para siempre.
